Some information on the Book of Enoch
This is just some information to begin as we read the Book of Enoch. Hopefully to give us a better understanding. When truth threatens the power of systems, it gets labeled ‘apocryphal’ instead of dangerous. But the remnant is waking up. And we read what religion tried to bury. GOD Bless You, Roz
The
Book of Enoch, written during the second century B.C.E.,
is one of the most important non-canonical apocryphal works,
and probably had a huge influence on early Christian, particularly
Gnostic, beliefs.
Filled with hallucinatory visions of heaven and hell, angels and
devils,
Enoch introduced concepts such as fallen angels, the appearance of a
Messiah,
Resurrection, a Final Judgment, and a Heavenly Kingdom on Earth.
Interspersed with this material are quasi-scientific digressions
on calendrical systems, geography, cosmology, astronomy, and
meteorology. This text has been prepared specially for sacred-texts, and
is a great improvement over other versions on the Internet,
with the introduction, correct verse numbering,
page numbers from the 1917 edition, and intact critical apparatus.
Why was the Book of Enoch banned from the Bible?
The Book of Enoch was banned because it didn't make things easy.
It gave an honest account of how early Jews understood angels, demons,
and divine power. It showed that — for them — the boundary between
heaven and earth was far messier than later church authorities were
willing to admit.
Why do Christians not accept the Book of Enoch?
There are twenty Book of Enoch manuscripts in the Dead Sea Scrolls, but all are in Aramaic, not Hebrew. Thus, they are not part of the Hebrew Old Testament. We have far less early manuscripts for the Book of Enoch than we do for the recognized canon.
What did Jesus say about Enoch?
Jesus referred to The Book of Enoch; “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
(Mat 5:5) pulled from “The elect shall possess light, joy and peace,
and they shall inherit the earth. (Enoch 5:7 {6:9})” "Woe unto you that
are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
What is the secret of the Book of Enoch?
The Book of the Secrets of Enoch is a religious text that recounts the life and teachings of Enoch, a biblical figure who was said to have been taken up to heaven by God.
